a design assignment to pay homage to my favourite artist, in my own style. I chose Cho Gi Seok.
Model: Montse Herrera Despradel
Concept: Selfcare Awareness Poster
Details: Living room, Canon 6D, Ringlight, blanket, Photoshop

art direction + editing
Cho Gi Seok likes to work with bold and bright colours to amplify emotions.
To incorporate my own style, I worked with darker settings with contrasting foregrounds. The model's off-white sweater draws the audience into the picture and the "glitchy-textured-ambiguous" tear trail keeps the audience with my work. Additionally, the covered mouth complements the catch light in the eyes; adding a sense of freedom and entrapment.
The incorporation of skincare items was used to segway into how this generation is more focused on exterior beauty while collapsing inside.

Finally, the contrasting text was incorporated to provide depth to the poster; giving a sense of 'stuck'.

Thus formed Project Expression.

Blur
The blurry effect on the skincare products + micro placement was incorporated to align with the notions of how the composition of emotions are often ambiguous, small, and unclear.

Conversations and Contexts

this part of the campaign was created to show the progress of both the project and also the mental confusion of the model.
