face value
A distorted face as the face of the brand.
@thehagamuri is amused by human faces and how it bends & stretches to unfold various emotions. The brand heavily focused on pieces that expressed emotions by disrupting the reality.
documenting journeys
@thehamaguri is a storyteller.
The brand focuses on creating and showcasing stories of his own or of others. @thehamaguri truly believes in the power of bringing stories to life or to capture and documenting moments that go unnoticed.
An example of this is the series of photos I documented while walking around various cities.
Lost gloves and spilled drinks are instances of loss, sadness, and narration.

Hamaguri means to crawl in Bangla.
As I embody the name, I find everything that gave me joy was nurtured with patience, agony, resilience, and grit.
flowers, fonts, & filming
He not only focuses on distorting photos but also filming instances documenting the intimate moments of the human experience. Check out his work here!
@thehamaguri is the product of colonized lands, British empires & South Asian humidity.
Bahisy Regular embodies the strict, resilient, and expressive nature of the brand while flowers highlight the fragility and beauty of @thehamaguri.
Like @thehamaguri, flowers are also the product of colonized lands.

Finally;
flowers + emotions + distortions + people + stories =
A branding video was created using Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Photomosh.
This video was designed to fit any context that required @thehamaguri to present himself.
It is
short enough for an Instagram post |
heavy enough for a portfolio |
satisfying enough for a university course |
proud enough for a mother |
